Challenges and difficulties are part of everyone’s life; they are part of our shared human experience. My goal is to work with you to find moments of peace and meaning during darker times.
Coming to therapy can be scary and intimidating. To take a bit of that pressure off, I have a down-to-earth, easy-going, compassionate and empathetic approach to therapy. I strongly believe that every person is a worthy, capable human being with strengths of their own. Together, we will work on uncovering and developing your skills, strengths and what matters to you, with the end goal to be better equipped to face life’s challenges and live a more fulfilling life.
I believe that our suffering and difficulties are not solely of our own making; external factors (such as our relationships, past experiences, socioeconomic factors, etc.) also play a role in the choices that we make, and part of my role is to help you make sense of the impact these factors have on your life. Oftentimes, the biomedical model that dominates our health systems tends to pathologize human emotions, and humanizing and normalizing reactions to adverse circumstances is central to my practice.
